Rio Carnival seems to be a party reserved for adults. On the main days of the parade, from Friday to Tuesday and on Saturday during the Champions'Parade, children under 5 years old are not allowed in the Sambadrome. However, there are special events for children. In addition, there are attractions around the city that are perfect for children, whether during carnival or at other times of the year.
SAMBA SCHOOLS JUNIORS
In previous years, the junior parades were held on Carnival Tuesdays, now with a new day of parade for the special group, the junior parades will be held on Friday, the eve of the Champions Parade. The children’s parade is also a wonderful spectacle. The children who participate in these parades come from different schools of Samba. Like the adults in these samba schools, the children compete. They write their own theme song and choreograph their own dance. Children also help build their tanks and sew their costumes.
The samba schools' parades during the Rio Carnival are a true sight to behold, and anyone over 5 years old can take part in the show. However, remember that parades can last for hours and families may leave when the children are starting to get tired.

KID'S CARNIVAL OPTIONS: EXCLUSIVE PAID OPTIONS
In addition to street parties and parades, families looking for more exclusive carnival experiences can explore the Paid Holiday Options at several prestigious locations. Some sports clubs and the famous Jockey Club of Brazil offer carnival parties especially for children. These events typically offer a variety of engaging activities, entertainment and a safer environment for youth participants. It is important to note that these are paid events and in some cases, access may require the accompaniment of a club member.
OTHER ATTRACTIONS
As samba is an important part of the Rio Carnival, it can be fun to arrange for children to take samba lessons with mom and dad. This will not only bring the family together, but also give children an idea of what Carnival is. During the day, parents can take their children to Praia do Leblon, where there is a playground with rides and toys for children.
The long avenues in front of the beaches of Flamengo, Ipanema, Copacabana and Leblon are closed for special events and on Sundays. Musicians, jugglers, magicians, and other friendly people walk the avenue, for the delight of children. Parents can rent electric bicycles or carts for their children. The BioPark (Rio’s Zoo) can be a lot of fun, and the Indian Museum allows children to paint their bodies like the natives.
